Another example is the BMP851 trench compactor from BOMAG. The BMP851 comes standard with 33-inch wide segmented drums that, with the removal of three bolts per segment, reduce the roller to a 24-inch compaction width. This means the machine can be used in narrow trenches as well as in wider trenches. The conversion of the BW145DH-3 roller is only slightly more complex. A mechanic using hand tools and a forklift in about two hours or less readily does the addition of the three-section pad foot shell kit. |

A good example is the BOMAG BW145DH-3 single drum roller that is part of Blue Eagle's rental fleet. When fitted with an optional three-segment, bolt-on shell kit, it is transformed from a 56-inch wide smooth drum roller for final finishing, to a similar width pad foot soil consolidation compactor. This multifunction machine permits a contractor to perform two very different type of applications with a single machine at a very reasonable operating cost. In addition, the dealer doesn't need two machines in stock, only the one.

With their compact design, the new BW124-40 series rollers are versatile and maneuverable, yet offer capabilities and features similar to larger models. The series consists of two models: the BW124DH-40 smooth drum roller and the BW124PDH-40 padfoot roller. An optional leveling blade adds versatility to the series.
The new roller series includes three models: the BW177D-40 and BW177DH-40 smooth drum rollers and the BW177PDH-40 padfoot roller. All three offer a 66-inch working widths and are powered by Tier III compliant Cummins diesel engines.
The 12-ton class rollers are powered by a four-cylinder water-cooled Deutz diesel engine that meets EPA tier III requirements. The series is designed for efficient compaction of granular, mixed and semi-cohesive soils, making it ideal for a variety of site preparation applications, including highway construction and maintenance, airports, streets and subdivisions, parking lots and landfills.
The new BW213-40 Series comprises three models: the BW213D-40 and BW213DH-40 smooth drum rollers and the BW213PDH-40 padfoot roller. The BW213D-40 is powered by a 133-horsepower Deutz water-cooled diesel engine. The BW213DH-40 and BW213PDH-40 are powered by 160-horsepower Cummins diesel engines.BOMAG Distributor
