“I feel I have an important advantage over some milling operators because of all the experience I have had in operating a paver. This experience gives me a good eye to know how deep to mill so the results are a smoother vehicular ride.” It was Alleva who wisely appointed Pommerer as the company’s milling machine operator. Alleva reasoned that a paving operator with 10 years of experience and a background of doing exceptional paving would be the best bet for putting on the milling machine. Such an operator would be sensitive to anomalies in the existing pavement’s surface and thus correct them accordingly using the milling machine. Pommerer says the Marini staff was of great help in assisting him as how best to operate the milling machine.
