Chief Financial Officer

Scope
  • Lead and hands on work on all financial processes and matters, including cost accounting  and controlling, preparation and monitoring of budgets and rolling forecast, monthly closing, and timely preparation of financial reports according to BOMAG rules.
  • Analyze business data, initiate and monitor corrective action plans to especially improve the manufacturing process and help to reduce the cost of the products.
  • Develop standard costs, monitor work order variances, evaluate over- and under-absorptions, and analyze manpower efficiency for personnel defined as cost of goods sold; reduce material costs to secure optimal purchase prices under consideration of quality, currency exchange values, lead times and on time delivery.
  • Manage all and exercise direct responsibility for controlling and reporting, accounts receivable and customer credit, accounts payable.
  • Coordinate bank matters with parent company CFO in Europe to meet liquidity needs.
  • Responsible for commercial-related legal, contract, risk management, and insurance matters as well as support in evaluation of alliances and acquisitions (where necessary in coordination with parent company’s legal counsel in Europe).
  • Develop and implement strategy to achieve profitable growth and lead to identify opportunities for profitability improvement.
  • Manage tax (including reporting and planning) and audit activities as well as legal issues within U.S. frameworks; prepare and sign legal contracts for the company.
  • Secure high-quality IT support in people, systems and software; manage all IT-related activities, upgrades, and implementations.
  • Act as contact to the Union and represent the company in all negotiations and communication initiatives.
  • Act as fiduciary for statutory employee benefit plans (401k and pension, etc.)
  • Report to the President of BOMAG Americas, Inc., with dotted-line reporting to the parent company’s CFO, and act as a member of the Executive Management Team in the U.S. with direct contact to the French owner.


Requirements
  • 10 years experience in financial management as CFO in a small/medium size business unit with series manufacturing activity.
  • Hands-on experience in managing all relevant disciplines in finance, with solid understanding of all financial (incl. cash mgmt.) and controlling functions with special emphasis on cost accounting and controlling of production processes.
  • Practical management experience with IT and related EDP structures and systems as well as with ERP-systems such as Hyperion and SAP.
  • Experienced in setting and implementing strategies, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing and currency exchange, ideally with additional understanding of both U.S. and German tax and accounting issues
  • Experience within an international organization, German or French subsidiary background desired.
